March Madness is upon us, which means one team will be cutting down the nets in Houston in the coming weeks. Hopefully, for the first time in school history, it will be the Alabama Crimson Tide. I believe basketball is one of the most unpredictable sports out there. Coaches and players alike, work to eliminate as much of the variance in performance by drawing up plays and working on execution to include offense, defense, shooting, and time management among many other things.
Like basketball, excellence in safety is of similar nature. There are a lot of variables to control to keep our teams safe. When you have a perfect season or win a championship, it needs to be celebrated. A lot of training, planning, individual and team responsibility goes into a winning safety season.
Recently, Induron Protective Coatings was recognized as one of the members of Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association to earn the 2022 Safety Award of Excellence for having ZERO (0.00) recordable injuries for the previous calendar year. Here at Induron, we strive for zero incidents every year. This award is a nice recognition for our team, but more importantly, it means each of our team members goes home safely to their families every day.
As Mike Krzyzeski once said, “The persistent pursuit of excellence determines winners, not the score of the game.” While we may not be perfect every year like we were in 2022, we will persistently pursue excellence in safety here at Induron.
