Recoating Peotone’s Pedosphere Tank

The original coating on Peotone, Illinois’s  250,000-gallon pedosphere tank had reached the end of its lifecycle. The tank owner, Aqua Illinois, involved Dixon Engineering as the engineer on the project, Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group as the general contractor, Semper Fi Industrial coatings as the paint contractor, and Induron Protective Coatings as the coatings manufacturer. Swansea Wastewater Treatment Plant Refurbishment

When the City of Swansea, Illinois realized it was time to bring their water treatment plant back up to their standard of quality, they turned to their long-time engineering firm partner, Thouvenot, Wade and Moerchen, Inc (TWM, Inc). This act seeks to strengthen the original intent of the Safe Drinking Water Act by recognizing that the condition of our infrastructure is directly related to the safety and quality of our drinking water. A New Look for TL-70

Coatings for the water tank industry have undergone major changes in recent years. The implementation of NSF-600, supply chain woes, and new technological innovation have all come together to result in a more rapidly changing set of linings than the industry has seen for quite some time. While service life expectations remain fantastic with these newer technologies, many of these newer coatings (or poorly adjusted re-treads of existing technology) have resulted in real challenges for applicators.
