Gearheads galore! The Induron Operations team recently celebrated meeting its quarterly quality goals! These goals not only measure the quality of paint we are producing, but also how we are servicing our customers. The goals we set are not “gimme goals,” because we like a challenge. And, we don’t always reach them, but when we do, it’s worth celebrating.
For the first quarter, we hit the mark and took our Operations Department to Barber Motorsports Museum. If you are coming through Birmingham, it is one of the finest museums and racetracks in the world! It is home to the Honda Indy Grand Prix, multiple superbike races, vintage cars and motorcycle events.
We enjoyed a catered lunch while watching the Porsches zoom by as a part of the Porsche driving experience. While that was fun to watch, it was only the beginning of our adventure. Next, we went on a 3-hour guided tour of the facility. There is a lot to see, including:
- The largest collection of motorcycles in the world. They have around 1,700 total, which they rotate to display only 1,200 at one time. Each motorcycle can be started and running within 30 minutes!
- The largest collection of Lotus cars in the world. Like the motorcycles, they can be up and running within 30 minutes!
- The largest collection of outboard boat motors in the world. Like everything else they can be up and running in no time.
- Most days Porsches or motorcycles are racing around the track and that is fun to see—especially from the bridge where the photo of our team was taken.
I don’t know that we can say we are as close to perfection as the folks at Barber Motorsports, but that is what we are striving to achieve at Induron. Meeting these quarterly goals is a step in that direction. Congratulations to Induron’s Operations team on meeting their quality goals!
