We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our Engineering Sales Team, John Bickel! John will manage sales in the company’s key markets of Kentucky, Indiana and Southern Ohio.
Before coming to Induron, he served as sales and project manager at Caldwell Tanks for thirty years. John will combine his industry knowledge and previous experience in this longtime career to be the liaison to contractors and engineers in his new role at Induron. This will involve overseeing technical applications and managing the sales process and project specifications in these markets.
So there are all the technical, professional details about John. Now, we’d like to help you get to know him a little bit more on a more personal level.
What is your biggest professional mistake and success?
With my past employer I bid projects for the company, so I would face mistakes and successes with every project when I was low bidder, depending on the outcome.
What’s your favorite thing about working for Induron so far?
All the Induron employees are kind, sincere and have always been helpful when I have a question. Making sales calls has been interesting and fun with all of the different types of personalities you encounter.
If you had a day to do anything you wanted, what would you do?
It doesn’t get any better than being on a beach with a fishing rod and reel.
What advice do you have for someone starting out in the working world?
Be open minded but pursue something you enjoy or for which you have a talent.
If you could have dinner with anybody, living or dead, who would it be and why?
How interesting would it be to have dinner with Aristotle or Plato? On second thought, they would be far too deep for me, so hopefully it would be a short dinner.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
Probably my mother. Kindness, sincerity and patience were her strongpoints.
What’s your favorite pizza topping?
Sausage and mushrooms.
What’s your favorite book?
“Call of the Wild” by Jack London. It was the book I read as a kid that took me away to another place.
What are your hobbies?
Walking outdoors and fishing. I would golf more if I had time.
What’s your favorite quote?
“Everything happens for a reason.” The older I get the more I buy into this saying.
Welcome aboard, John!
