Coatings for the water tank industry have undergone major changes in recent years. The implementation of NSF-600, supply chain woes, and new technological innovation have all come together to result in a more rapidly changing set of linings than the industry has seen for quite some time. While service life expectations remain fantastic with these newer technologies, many of these newer coatings (or poorly adjusted re-treads of existing technology) have resulted in real challenges for applicators. Induron’s TL-70 is a tried-and-true solution with decades of success under its belt, and some new capabilities that make it a leading choice in today’s water tank lining reality.
Let’s get right to the point of what is so impressive about TL-70:
- Single leg application with low pressure requirements and hours of pot life
- Up to 20 mils DFT in a single coat
- NSF 600/61 compliant
- OTC 2 Compliant
- Ceramic epoxy longevity and performance
- Cold weather version can go down to 35F
- Now available in White and Blue
Very few products on the market can match this set of metrics. Achieving higher thicknesses in fewer coats allows owner’s the opportunity for long term performance, without undertaking the higher cost of plural-component applied 100% solids epoxies. It also allows applicators a means of providing these thicker films without the need for advanced spray pumps and wrestling with near-zero pot life that comes with those traditional 100% solids epoxies.
The Induron Difference
Induron’s R&D team has completed a multi-year effort of chemical engineering and supply chain research to allow this product two amazing new features which were not previously possible: Cold weather application down to 35 degrees Fahrenheit, and the addition of white as a color option. These two new options will open up TL-70 to many projects where it may not have been considered viable previously.
While these innovations in chemistry have made updates possible, we are proud to say that TL-70 remains based on the original technology of Induron’s first potable water ceramic epoxy: Ruff Stuff 3300. This technology has been servicing water tanks since the 1980s with a fantastic track record. We are extremely proud to have a product with enough history behind it to have kids in college, and enough new innovation to make it a truly industry-leading lining for water tanks and other potable water infrastructure.
