Induron’s Annual Sales Meeting: A Good Time with Great People

By: Davies Hood, Induron President

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting the Induron Sales Team at our annual Sales Meeting. This year’s event was held at the beautiful Pursell Farms near Childersburg, AL. Our Team spent two nights together under one roof at the “Man’s World-esque” Parker Lodge. I describe this lodge as ‘Man’s World’ because of the Mountain Lodge décor, which includes a Moose-Head above the mantel, a game room complete with billiard, ping-pong and foosball tables, a patio with a fire pit and cigar ashtray overlooking the 17th green, a large dining area where we enjoyed a filet mignon prepared in-house, AND a modern meeting room featuring leather chairs and two entire walls of windows as well as modern A/V! Story of this Photo: Mid Delta Regional Airport Water Tank

By: Ben Rowland, Induron Sales Representative

Mid Delta Regional Airport Water TankPictured here is the elevated water tank located at the Mid Delta Regional Airport in Greenville, MS.

I recently visited Greenville, MS to give a presentation. Since I was in the area, I decided to go check out a job Induron completed 7 years ago. Just as I had hoped for and expected, the tank looked great! Seven years doesn’t sound like much, especially these days when we expect exterior finish coats to last 15-20 years, but let’s look a little harder at the photo.  Continue reading Story of this Photo: Mid Delta Regional Airport Water Tank

Induron’s PermaClean 100 Ceramic Epoxy: Protecting the Top Water/Utility Systems in the U.S.

By: Ben Rowland, Induron Sales Representative

In its January 2016 issue, Water and Wastes Digest featured Induron’s premium 100% Solids Ceramic Epoxy, PermaClean 100. Specifically, the article highlighted the use of this high-build, NSF Approved Ceramic Epoxy as the standardized potable water tank liner for the Aqua Pennsylvania system, which is one of the leading water suppliers in the United States. The publication  was so impressed by the reference photo we provided for the product that they chose to use as the issue’s cover photo.   Continue reading Induron’s PermaClean 100 Ceramic Epoxy: Protecting the Top Water/Utility Systems in the U.S.

Induron admits: ‘We are selfish’

By Ben Rowland, Induron Sales Rep, Birmingham, AL

I recently read an article entitled, “Authentic Selling: Be An Advisor”, by Marc Corsini. This article really struck a chord with me, as it represents the notion that I have always felt was the overriding philosophy here at Induron Protective Coatings. That philosophy being, that we work as “advisors” for our clients, not just “salespeople.” The Authentic Selling acronym is as follows:

Advisor

Undisputed Results

Trustworthy

Helpful

Empathetic

Natural

Thought Leader

Integrity

Collaborative Effort Continue reading Induron admits: ‘We are selfish’

My Knowledge, Your Knowledge

By Ben Rowland, Induron Sales Rep, Birmingham, AL

As an Induron sales rep, I spend a lot of time honing my knowledge of the industry. Whether I’m attending a continuing education course, getting re-certified in a particular aspect of the industry or working with our Induron chemists to ensure I’m up to date on the latest and greatest products we offer, staying informed on every aspect of the world of coatings is vital to our business… and YOUR success.

I’m not just selling you a product. When you work with Induron, I want to make sure you’re getting the best, most accurate information available to accompany that product. That’s why I stay up to date on new products, new methods of coating, new applications, new industry standards and more. That knowledge helps me better meet my customers’ needs.

When I start a project, I assess the needs of the customer and the specific project. I have to make sure that I’m giving everyone the best information available, and that I’m doing so in a way that has everyone on the same page before a project begins.

When a project gets underway, I make multiple job site visits, answer questions from the owner or engineer, inspect the project, facilitate product orders with the contractor – anything that needs to be done to ensure the project goes smoothly.

Then, during the final inspection, I’m able to certify the finished project, thanks to staying up to date on my certifications through continuing education courses. Continue reading My Knowledge, Your Knowledge

Life Cycle Costs Greatly Reduced Using Premium Products

By Ben Rowland, Induron Sales Representative

In the industrial coatings industry, there are some very well accepted standards and conventional coatings systems for which projects are specified.

Over the years, standards have progressed along with burgeoning technologies. Coatings once thought to be superior at the time of development have been supplanted by newer products for various reasons: some were discovered to contain what are now known to be hazardous materials; some were found to have hazardous emissions during application; while some were simply inferior products to the current ones available.
