Working on the Weekend
By: Davies Hood, Induron President
Recently, I was reminded of the ole’ saying “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” It’s not every day, or even anything that occurs on any sort of regular basis, but a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to work all weekend. Continue reading Working on the Weekend
A Super Bowl Story: How are the Kansas City Chiefs and Induron similar?
By: Jeff Lackey, Induron Technical Director
I’ve been a Kansas City Chiefs fan for a long time. I used to live in Kansas City and still have a daughter who lives there. Arrowhead Stadium is one of the great, “old-fashioned” stadiums with a tremendous legacy. Believe it or not, the Chiefs were in the very first Super Bowl (back when it was called the AFL-NFL Championship). Unfortunately the Chiefs, led by Lenny Dawson, lost to the Packers, led by Alabama alumni Bart Starr, that year. Continue reading A Super Bowl Story: How are the Kansas City Chiefs and Induron similar?
Story of a Photo: What I Learned on a Cold Day in Chicago
By: Jamie Laird, Induron Sales Representative
About 5 or 6 years ago, I began teaching Concrete Coating Inspection classes for SSPC because of my passion for preparing and coating concrete. When I took the class about 10 years ago, it changed my career path and led me in new directions. As I focused increasingly more on the three main market segments for concrete coatings (floors, tanks and infrastructure), I became aware of just how much ingenuity and knowledge is required of the applicators of these products. Cooperation is a Powerful Tool
By: Davies Hood, Induron President
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to attend the annual Guild CPO Conference held at The Drake in Downtown Chicago, IL. As a 20-year-old organization made up of small- and medium-sized paint manufacturing companies, Guild CPO was organized to provide cooperative purchasing services for its member companies in order to improve their profitability. That’s a really nice way to say that the group is similar to a buyer’s co-op, where cooperation and teamwork really do help lift all. When it’s done right, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” As a longtime member and participant, I think that this group is currently doing it right! Continue reading Cooperation is a Powerful Tool
